Happy Birthday to me

Today I am 49 years old.  Usually birthday’s don’t bother me at all, but this one is affecting me.  I’m not entirely sure why, but I have some ideas.  Part of it may be that I am now the same age my mom was when she passed away.  She seemed so much older than I do, but maybe that’s just the perspective we have of our parents when we are young.

Another piece is that I know I am at the crossroads of another transition in my life.
