2007 Resolutions

My fitness goals for 2007:

(1) Weigh less than 200 pounds – or 10% bodyfat if it comes first.  (I weighed 255 at my biggest and 239 at the beginning of the year)

(2) Blood Pressure at or below 120/80.  Currently as high as 160/100.

(3) Bicycle 4,000 miles – which averages about 80 a week (I cycled 2,000 miles in 2006 )

(4) Workout for 300 hours – about 6 hours per week (I have no idea what I’ve done in the past, but it seems like what I’ll need to lift weights twice a week and cycle 4,000 miles).  My friend Brad is planning on doing his second ironman in 2007 and he plans on 600 hours – I figure half of that ought to be about right for me.

 (5) Complete the Tour de Blast – A 1-day Mt. St. Helen’s ride in June (I did this ride a couple of years ago and literally got snowed off the mountain – well maybe it was just frozen rain, but it was cold!  I want to finish it)

(6) This ride was canceled for 2007 The Torture 10,000 – a 100 mile, over 10,000 feet of elevation ride in August.  This is my “reward” for losing weight and I won’t do it if I’m not at 215 or below.  This is going to be one hard ride, but I’ve always been fascinated by it and besides – they have really cool jerseys!!!

(7) Accumulate over 100,000 feet of elevation gain on my bicycle.

Those are my fitness goals for the year.  Wish me luck…

Phil

Your first goal is the same as mine but I have a bit further to go. Hope you at least accomplish the first goal as it will if not this year make accomplishing the rest easier.
    Good luck,
    John
